[RESOLVED] Testing out System Restore - did not complete successfully

I've tried in safe mode also but I can't get System Restore to complete successfully.

Msg:
System Restore did not complete successfully.
System Restore could not access a file.
This is probably becasuse an Antivirus Program is running on the computer. Disable the Antivirus program and retry.
An unspecified error occurred during System Restore (0x80070005)

I tried System Restore with my Antivirus Program and firewall (Norton) disabled and my wireless disabled with the same results.

What can I try?

I'll try this in the mean time. I have a HP Laptop G60-535DX.

This is the Norton step I missed to my problem.

In Network Settings
Click Miscellaneous Settings , and then click the button next to Norton Product Tamper Protection to turn the protection Off.

I'd try uninstalling Norton altogether, and then see if you can restore OK.

just to add to what sparks said, sometimes antivirus programs dont like sytem restore including norton, dont just turn norton off uninstall it and see what happens.
