[RESOLVED] Outlook - have lost contacts and calendar
Outlook 7 failed to start with the message "Can't start MS Office Outlook" I googled for information, found that it wa a fairly common fault and MS had a cure. Followed the link - MS had an automatic cure which I activated. It did something to my register but Outlook opened, However I had to reset all the connections. I have regularly backed up the data but find that it is all contained in ZIP files. When I decompress them they are *.pst files OK - but Outlook refuses them saying that they are not personal folders files.
The files that Outlook used to open must surely be somewhere on my computer, but I can't find them!
I am desperate - I have lost my appointments and all my email addresses and snail mail addresses.
Can anyone please help?
Gerald
My system is Windows7

Try FILE->Import and point the import process to the PST files.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

I think, in fact, I have rescued the stuff. I still don't know how to re-install "archived" but I eventually found a 8.pst backup which, although dated after Ithe trouble occured, yet had the data on it. so, relief and I can go to bed and sleep!
