[RESOLVED] Can I give permanent "permission" to Avast?
Whenever I try to update my virus definitions, Windows, (User Account Control), pops up a window asking me if this program may have permission to modify the computer. Is there some way to give Avast permanent permission?
Win 7 64-bit on a HP/AMD quad-core computer.

There is no way to individually whitelist a program, unfortunately. But it sounds as if you may have your UAC settings too fierce. Go to Control Panel>User Accounts>Change User Account control settings, and set the slider to second from the top, which is the default setting.

I set mine to the bottom, haven't been bothered by it since. And "good riddance" I say!
Of course the "security" posse will get their pantaloons in a twist but I'll take that chance.

Ok, thanks guys. I had it at the lowest setting once, but decided to change it back to default for some reason. Can't remember why.

I consider myself to be one of the security posse!
You can consider my pantaloons well and truly twisted
