Like a lot of people in IT, I listen to MP3s or online radio stations throughout the day, so I have a decent set of speakers connected. I'm careful of where I go on the Internet and am rarely surprised. However, lately when I cruise VirtualDR to read the questions and possibly respond, my speakers blare an advertisement. It's bad enough that I have to contend with this persistent freak that continually distracts me by acting like he's tapping on my monitor, but now he's talking over the stuff I want to hear?
I've never asked anything of this site and I praise it to everyone in IT, but please stop the sound......
Thank you.

So, am I the only one who wishes the Microsoft Guy who acts like he taps on the monitor would go away? Today he actually spoke to me over the music I was listening to. Any chance VDR could squash that ad?

Our friend the monitor tapper Only speaks if you mouse over him. Are you accidently doing that or do you hear him as soon as you enter VDR?

Hello Steve,
It's entirely possible that I 'mouse over' the ad. If the pointer is over the text I'm about to read, I just give it a push out of the way. I'll make a note not to give him the attention he is craving.
Thanks for the reply!

TB - keep an eye on the mouse over....I've done it twice in the last week or so It always freaks me out...Sitting in a real quite office and BOOM stuff I'm not expecting comes out of the speakers.
What country do you live in? From time to time some ads geared towards some countries have had sound..but shouldn't have sound.
And, If you hear sound and are Certain you didn't mouse over - post back.

Steve,
I'm in the USA, not too far from Memphis, TN. Today is the first I've heard sound, so I'll just knock the mouse to the left from now on.
I guess the ad wouldn't be so bad for me if the 'He' were a 'She' trying to get my attention.
Have a great day!

I passed the information along and you'll be glad to know that ad should be gone in approximately 6 days. Moving forward, we intend to try and limit ads with sound to require a click as opposed to a mouse over.
