It is running now. It did find a couple of items. I'll post as soon as it is done.
Oddly, it found a file "ListC.bat" in the Combofix directory. I have no idea why that was still there or what kind of batch file it is.

it found a file "ListC.bat" in the Combofix directory
Combofix should have been uninstalled by now.
    Make sure to...
Delete Combofix, Qoobox folders, and Combofix.txt file from C:
Delete Combofix from your desktop....if any of those still exist.

Print this post out, since you won't have an access to it, at some point.

    1. Open HijackThis.

    2. Close all windows, except for HijackThis.

    3. Put checkmarks next to the following HijackThis entries:

    - R3 - URLSearchHook: (no name) - {EF99BD32-C1FB-11D2-892F-0090271D4F88} - (no file)
    - O2 - BHO: (no name) - {02478D38-C3F9-4efb-9B51-7695ECA05670} - (no file)
    - O4 - Global Startup: Bluetooth Manager.lnk = ?

    4. You should also checkmark following entries (these are unnecessary startups; no actual programs will be removed):

    - O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvCplDaemon] "RUNDLL32.EXE" C:\WINDOWS\system32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup
    - O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SunJavaUpdateSched] "C:\Program Files\Java\jre6\bin\jusched.exe"
    - O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [SigmatelSysTrayApp] %ProgramFiles%\SigmaTel\C-Major Audio\WDM\stsystra.exe
    - O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [Persistence] C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxpers.exe
    - O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [nwiz] "nwiz.exe" /installquiet
    - O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [IgfxTray] C:\WINDOWS\system32\igfxtray.exe
    - O4 - Global Startup: Printer Status Monitor.lnk = C:\Program Files\SHARP\Printer Status Monitor\Smon.exe
    - O4 - Global Startup: WinZip Quick Pick.lnk = C:\Program Files\WinZip\WZQKPICK.EXE
    - O20 - Winlogon Notify: !SASWinLogon - C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\SASWINLO.dll

    5. Click on Fix checked button.

    6. Restart computer.

    7. Post new HijackThis log.

I did uninstall Combofix (I actually did it twice to be sure) but it left those files behind. I Deleted everything and followed your instructions. Log to follow.

    Your computer is clean

    1. Download Temp File Cleaner (TFC)
Double click on TFC.exe to run the program.
Click on Start button to begin cleaning process.
TFC will close all running programs, and it may ask you to restart computer.

    2. Turn off System Restore:

    - Windows XP:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Right-click the My Computer icon, and then click Properties.
    3. Click the System Restore tab.
    4. Check "Turn off System Restore".
    5. Click Apply.
    6. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click Yes to do this.
    7. Click OK.
    - Windows Vista:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Right-click the Computer icon, and then click Properties.
    3. Click on System Protection under the Tasks column on the left side
    4. Click on Continue on the "User Account Control" window that pops up
    5. Under the System Protection tab, find Available Disks
    6. Uncheck the box for any drive you wish to disable system restore on (in most cases, drive "C:")
    7. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click "Turn System Restore Off" on the popup window to do this.
    8. Click OK

    3. Restart computer.

    4. Turn System Restore on.

    5. Make sure, Windows Updates are current.

    6. If any Trojan was listed among your infection(s), make sure, you change all of your on-line important passwords (bank account(s), secured web sites, etc.) immediately!

    7. Download, and install WOT (Web OF Trust): http://www.mywot.com/. It'll warn you (in most cases) about dangerous web sites.

    8. Run defrag at your convenience.

    9. Read How did I get infected?, With steps so it does not happen again!: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/topic2520.html

    10. Please, let me know, how is your computer doing.

First, I want to thank you for all of your time, clear and concise instructions that we all can understand and your patience.

While I ran the TFC.exe program the Symantec tamper window popped up with 260 items showing. It didn't cause any issue that I could see and I still don't know if that is simply a function of Symantec or what.

One thing I completely forgot about is that my computer was taking forever to shut down. I would click on the "shutdown" icon and it would take at least 5 minutes before it would go to the next screen (where it would ask if you wanted to shutdown or reboot) and then it would take another 5 minutes to shutdown (maybe more).
That issue is now gone! I'm pretty positive that was related to the viruses on the machine. I still don't know when or where they got installed though I have a suspicion it was a short video sent from a coworker. Sometimes I need to view these but would like to work out away to properly scan them before viewing. Symantec seems to miss a lot.

So, in short, I think the computer is working as smooth as it ever did. Once again, thank you so much. I've been poking through the various forums here and this is definitely going to become one of my favorite haunts.

There should be an option to donate to you guys! Do you have a favorite charity?

I'm glad, your computer is in a good mood again
I'm not sure about donations. You can PM some mod and ask.

    Merry Christmas

Once again, thank you for your help with my computer. I do still have a question though, which was my original question here. My computer appears to be working fine and is virus free, I believe, however I still get the odd Symantec messages. I really think it is a Symantec issue but would like to put up a JPEG of at least one of the messages I am getting. Can I do that without having it on a website to link to?

The message is a "Symantec Tamper Protection Alert". I just got 16 of them when I ran Malwarebytes. They never stopped after cleaning the computer.
I will continue to try and find something out about this from Symantec but it's like trying to herd cats with them

    Thanks.

I should have known there were instructions somewhere here! I never saw the manage attachments button.

Anyway, here is the picture and thank you.

Now this is just a guess on my part, but it seems Symantec hates competition that works.

Maybe some one can enlighten us.

    No question about it.
    It's not only about Norton.
Some security programs will identify some antimalware tools as a threat.
I'd say, it's too bad, Norton never heard of Malwarebytes.
If I was a Norton user, I'd definitely complain at their forum.
