[RESOLVED] Firefox 3.6 crash
I am using Windows XP SP3 and I had Firefox 3.5.7 installed and everything worked great. I installed the update to 3.6 and it worked great until I restarted my computer this morning and Firefox crashed and sent in a report. I can not shut down my computer now without pushing the front power button. I went to control panel and tried to open add/ remove programs and that would not work. I also went to restore to an earlier date and that froze up and would not work. I can get IE 7 to open and my Thunderbird email is working. I am using a Dell 4550 and have never had a problem before. It is a Pentium 4 CPU 2.53 GHz, 1.00 GB RAM.
Any help will will be appreciated.

I finally got the safe mode to open and I treied system restore and could not get any date to restore itself. But, for some unknown reason the add/ remove worked and I took 3.6 out and got everything back to normal except no Firefox. I tried to see if I could download the 3.5.7 version but could not find a site to get it from.

Surely, it looks like some problem on your end.
Try to completely uninstall FF, using this guide: http://kb.mozillazine.org/Uninstalling_Firefox
Install fresh copy.

I cleaned everything off my computer as per instructions and installed 3.6 and so far it's working.
