Excel 2007 prints blank pages
Hi there,
I have a licensed copy of Excel 2007 Home and Student.
My computer is a HP dv 2000 running Vista Home Premium and I'm printing to a HP f4280 printer.
When I try to print an Excel worksheet, the printer prints a blank pages only. Print preview in Excel shows data in the cells, however the 2nd print preview generated by the print driver (I guess) shows a blank page. I contacted HP support who seem to think it is an Excel issue. All other programs print correctly to my printer. Unfortunately I don't have access to another printer to see if the Excel issue happens elsewhere. Thanks for any suggestions.

If you start a brand new spreadsheet - type in One character and hit the print button you'll get two pages? Is that correct?
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Hi Steve,
I open an existing worksheet, filled with data, the print area is set correctly, etc.
Print preview shows the page correctly.
When I print, the printer spits out a blank page. The printhead doesnt even move, the printer just spits out a blank page as if there were no data in the worksheet.
Again, the printer prints all other file formats (.doc, .pdf etc) correctly. It is only Excel files that will not print. My temporary remedy is to convert the Excel file to a pdf and print it that way.
I can't figure out whether this is an Excel issue or a printer issue.

Toss blank page in trash - click on Thread Tools here and select RESOLVED
But when you do my little test what happens?
If the test works ok...you have something in your spreadsheet...Have you reset the the print area?

Sorry Steve I was confused by your initial reply. To follow up, when I open a new worksheet, type one character in a cell, then print, the page prints correctly (that is, one page with character showing and no blank pages).
And now it seems it is resolved. Everything is printing properly although I don't know why. I'll just mark it as resolved. These are not the droids you're looking for.

Open the spreadsheet.
Hit the END and then the HOME keys on your keyboard. Doing this will take you to the lowest right hand corner of the spread sheet.
If the location you're taken to is a few lines below or a few columns to the right of where any daya is - Delete the extra rows and columns.
Save and close the spreadsheet...Reopen it and try to print again.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.
