IE not displaying all items on web page.

I am using Windows XP sp3. I have a cable internet connection. I am using IE8 and Firefox. My problem is when I view my web page the analog clocks and the hit counter are only displayed as place holders when viewed with IE8. This happens with other web pages also. This is a new problem. IE has worked normal for years. I have not installed any new programs on my computer. With Firefox and the page display is normal. I have Java applets on the page that works fine with both IE and Firefox. I have tried to re-configure. I tried factory settings. I have downloaded and reinstalled IE8. That didn't help. This seems like it is a browser problem and not my operating system. Dzan

dzan--IE8 is unable to properly display many websites.
Run IE8 in Compatibility View.

Thank you Welshjim. I tried EI in compatability view and it did not make any difference. My web page is http://rwgee.net/janupdate.htm Other pages also have items missing with only place holders visible.

I rechecked the web page I mentioned previously and noticed the hit counter is now displaying the count digits. How ever the clocks are not displayed and other pages on the Internet still only display placeholders where there should be graphics.

Using IE7 I see the page just fine. No placeholders except down at the bottom right for the Overstock.com coupon. The clocks are there and running. But no sign of a hit counter at all but there is a link which seems offer hit counters for sale.
I know this info does not help your problem, but I thought I would pass it along.
Have you validated your page with W3C for use on IE8?

The 3 clocks and hit counter all show in Firefox.
Sourced the page with IE 8 and see a typo.

IE8 - I see the red x for the clock and that. Those are blocked for me.

The W3c Validator showed several text-case errors stating all attributes when building pages in XHTML - CSS should be in lower case. I opened the editor on my server and determined all attributes are in lowercase. W3c states there may be a Validation error if
“No Character Encoding Found! Falling back to UTF-8.”
The IE problem may be in my OS. I asked others to view the page with IE and all seems to work well for them. The clocks were there. My newly downloaded IE 8 did not solve the problem. IE 8 has worked fine displaying the clocks on my pages since I installed it when it first came out untill just lately.
Foxfire displays the clocks on my computer as well as other computers. I did correct the scrollbar color code. Thank you Train for bringing this to my attention. I color code the track to match the page background so that it is not visable. Firefox will only displays scrollbars in default gray.
I’m at a loss. I hope I will not need to install my OS again. It would be nice if you could refresh an OS with out loosing your files or software that would find GLITCHES and correct them.

I do not know about the IE 8 problem as I do not see the clocks in it.

But I will admit, that background, I will call it noise, would keep a lot of folks from returning to your site.
