You got me looking at temps. I found something wierd.

I restarted computer. I went into bios and looked at pc health stuff.

It says cpu temp is/was 64* C. As soon as computer booted and windows started I fired up everest again. here is temps now:

    Temperatures:
    Motherboard 43 °C (109 °F)
    CPU 57 °C (135 °F)
    Aux 54 °C (129 °F)
    Seagate ST3120814A 36 °C (97 °F)
    WDC WD2500AVJB-63J5A0 33 °C (91 °F)

Big difference. BTW what is AUX? I have seen that temp go high.

Here is another result just moments from the prior one:

    Temperatures:
    Motherboard 42 °C (108 °F)
    CPU 44 °C (111 °F)
    Aux 56 °C (133 °F)
    Seagate ST3120814A 36 °C (97 °F)
    WDC WD2500AVJB-63J5A0 33 °C (91 °F)

    I don't get it.

Q#18: What does the "Aux" temperature shown on the Computer / Sensor page mean?
A#18: There is no standard for sensor registers layout, so the "Aux" temperature could show the temperature of the CPU or the motherboard, or might be a non-connected wire of the sensor chip, and so it could show a bogus value.
While computer starting, CPU will be hotter, than couple of minutes later. It's normal.

That is a high temp for idling though. Run OCCT or Prime 95 for a few minutes and see what it goes up to when maxed out. You'll soon find out if there's a problem.

    OCCT
