Vista premium and a new motherboard
We are working on putting a new motherboard with Vista Premium. It is an older Acer pc and we are changing mobos out. Now we don't seem to have the original install disk which was probably a restore cd so what do we need to do to keep all data and programs original? Buy a Vista Premium disk or would any disk work with that pc COA. Myself I have Ultimate but don't want to use it unless that would work as an upgrade.
thanks
Break it, then fix it!!

No matter which os you put on there, you won't be able to keep programs. They have to be reinstalled. Data, documents, photos, etc, you can save.
I don't think Vista works like XP did where you could use another's disk, with the COA of that Acer. Did it have Vista on it to start with?
