web desktop icons
Hi guys,
I've just started using a web page as my desktop and all icons have lost their transparent text backgrounds. I know this is just how it is but does anybody know of a way around this? a registry hack or something?
Thanks

How to make your Desktop Icons Transparent
Go to ontrol Panel > System, > Advanced > Performance area > Settings button Visual Effects tab "Use drop shadows for icon labels on the Desktop"
This is from Google. Google is your friend.

I thought google was my friend, but it is keeping secrets from me.
Your suggestion works only if web desktop is disabled. With web page desktop the icons appear with the non transparent background regardless of settings in display properties. This is why I think there might be a registry hack. Maybe the web desktop overrides the desktop settings.
But thanks for the reply
