Nope. Didn't work for this particular file. It must be locked somehow. Thanks anyway.

    Hmmm... worked for me.

Googled "site:irs.gov filetype:pdf", copied the URL of the first link and pasted it into Zamzar.

    The results:

If the .pdf file does not contain any actual text, but contains only a graphic image of the text, then you need an OCR program to convert it. If you can't highlight and copy any of the text, then you probably have an image. It is also possible that the text is protected against copying.

jdc2000, I think you're right. It was my sons resume and either was an image or locked. At any rate, I got around it by retyping it. ugh. I told him to be patient and when I got it done I sent it back to him. He's working in Iraq,(training firefighters) but now that the troops are being withdrawn, he's looking for state side employment. Yeah!

Hi, jmtjet, you don't have to retype it. If your son's resume is a scanned one, you need OCR converter, try this http://www.ocrterminal.com, 20 pages for free every month.
But if you just can't copy and print, maybe the PDF is protected by the so-called owner password, you can still convert the whole PDF into Word document using AnyBizSoft PDF to Word Converter, it can preserve the layouts, text content, images. Protected PDF can be converted, you can also have a try.
I'm new here, hope this info can help you.
