Since getting this new machine and it's 64-bit OS....I have been seeking out 64-bit applications to be able to take full advantage of software and hardware. But one thing still nags me....why is Adobe dragging it's feet on a 64-bit browser flash plug-in? Certainly it is not a technical feat beyond their ability....so there is a conscious decision somewhere inside the dark bowels of Adopey HQ. Why would they do it?
As hard as it is for me to believe....the answer, I think is spite. Adopey made a 64-bit flash player for Linux, which just happens to be the only competition for Microsoft on the PC platform. Is this Adopey's way of firing a shot across Microsoft's bow.....help their competition and aggravate windows users? Would a multi-million dollar company engage in a seemingly childish behavior like this? I can't come to any other conclusion than Adopey is saying.....it's my ball and I won't let certain people play with it.
Perhaps it would serve Adopey right if their antics resulted in a boost for Silverlight use.
But then again....Silverlight doesn't have 64-bit support either.
