Has anyone done a Custom install (clean) to Windows 7 Home Premium using the Free HP Windows 7 Update Kit for Home Premium?

I couldn't find where I could edit this thread so I'll post this reply. It should read upgrade kit not update kit.

Here is the real story on how to do what you want. Remember for the upgrade to work, you need a full licensed previous version of an OS.

I know how to do it, I was inquiring as to weather anyone had used the HP upgrade kit and was you able to do a custom install from it. Thank you for your response.

knowing HP and their wonderful lack of customer support you are no doubt only going to be able to do an UPGRADE ... this past week I have been through one hell of a battle with them and have called them every name under the sun ... and at the end of every conversation they have asked "how can I help you" ... my last conversation ended up with me telling them to send me 1,000 of their HP CUSTOMER SUPPORT SUCKS stickers .... if I were you, I wouldn't use anything outside of a driver from HP ... and I sure as heck wouldn't trust their windows 7 upgrade kit ... I know HP has been around forever, but over the years their consumer support is going downhill fast .... just take a look at the HP customer support forums if you need proof ... just my opinion, but if I were you, I would invest the money and buy a full retail version of windows 7 and wipe out everything HP on your computer .... with the help and support of the people on here I just finished doing that to my laptop and it has never run better ... windows 7 is amazing and with all that HP software and junk gone the difference is unbelievable ... use your HP windows 7 upgrade kit as a paper weight ...

I just purchased a Windows 7 Home Premium upgrade and am going to use the custom install to do a clean install on my computer, and start with a fresh computer. That key from the upgrade kit ought to be good for something, unless it's a special type key.
