    Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool

When you purchase Windows 7 from the Microsoft store, you do have an option to choose from an ISO file. The ISO file contains all Windows 7 installation files combined into a single uncompressed file. For those who are wanting to install Windows 7 from a USB flash drive or DVD can do so.

Maybe this is not the place for discussing this. In any event, I will disclose more than my normal ignorance.
I downloaded Win7 .iso file from Technet and burned it as an ISO image to a DVD using ImgBurn. I then used the DVD to install Win7. I did not use any download tool.
What is different/advantageous about use of the download tool?

If you are loading Windows from a DVD in the normal way, then there is no advantage to it at all, and your way is fine Jim. If you want to load Win 7 Starter on a netbook though, being able to use a flash drive becomes essential, and that tool should make things easy

I suspect it could be very useful for emergencies as well, having Win7 on a flash drive.
