basically my current system is an overkill for me. 3-way sli motherboard, 700watt psu? i don't need it, it's just too much for me.
im not going to play crysis or any of those high-end games on full specifications, likely i won't even bother getting involved with them.
i like games of the past like counter-strike 1.6, starcraft, warcraft 3, and bunch of others.

mostly all i use my system for is writing on and compiling programming languages, 3d modelling(not professional), use image editing software like photoshop cs4 or gimp, browse internet(mail, videos, flash-games, etc.), chat, watch 720p/1080p movies and thats it.

will the new system be the win for me?
also any suggestions on which video card should i go with? my current one is very loud and hot. im not sure if i need a better than my current one, or less but i atleast would like to be able to play starcraft 2 and diablo 3(pretty far away reach, but judging by the eye) on medium settings with no fancy stuff like antilasting and all, with failrly playable fps.
im trying to go as low budget as safely and resiliently possible.
besides all that, i want my system to be very quiet(thinking water-cooling).

I'd up the power supply and one for known working right on while you wait for the next build. I've never heard of that brand you've got in your list. But you are going to need more than 500w for that quad core you're planning building. I've got a 550w in my dual core. See my sig.

whoa, no idea how that psu didn't show up in my search list.
but yeh xeon is good, except that that psu has 120mm fan. and i want biggest fan possible, to reduce noise and proly increase cooling rate.

ps:
i forgot to add hard drive to the list. im not sure if i should go with solid state drive that wil hike up my total expenses, or go with good old hard disk drive.
i dont think i need 500gb or more, because i usually end up using maximim of 30-35% of a 500gb.

what if i go with a micro/mini atx motherboard?

are there any noticeable differences between the mini/micro atx and just atx form factor motherboards?(performwise, or any other that i should be aware of?)

MicroATX only has less PCI slots. Everything else is the same, except it is smaller in size.
