Will you be upgrading to Windows 7?

Already ordered and paid for at the lesser rate in July.
Using the downloaded off the net version of 7 at the moment, and will have to do full install when I get my copy Oct 22.

Well, I did not get to the Miami Microsoft one day seminar because I was sick. Since someone has since posted that he received "only" the 32 bit Win 7--not the 64 bit, I don't feel so bad that I missed the trip South. Was gonna visit family members and grandchildren for a couple of days prior to the meeting.
I will be looking to buy the 3 pack Win 7 at the appropriate time for $150 total.

EDIT: Of course, I may change my mind on buying the 3 pack since I do receive the freebie Win 7 because of the new machine I bought. (I wonder if the freebie is an OEM or is it the full version of Win 7)

It is a full copy of Windows 7 Ultimate and is marked "Not For Resale"
It was packed in a cardboard sleeve, special package for the event.
They did not say if it is OEM or not.

AFAIK they normally hand out retail versions. I'm surprised that they are only handing out 32-bit though, I was under the impression that they were wanting to push 64-bit.

According to MS the 64 bit media is not yet out. Should be able to order it for a small fee in a few weeks or so.

It is out, sort of, it's on MSDN and Technet - I've been running Win7 x64 RTM for the last 6 weeks. So there is no reason that they couldn't hand out x64 versions. Indeed, we had the choice with the complementary copy that beta testers received.

bruce b, if that is the case then I have to wonder what "variant" of Win7 we may receive as our freebie for having bought a new computer already loaded the Vista Home Premium and also, will it be 32 bit or 64 bit. For those who claim to have paid less for having made the advance purchase order in July($50)(I forgot to do it), I don't see any difference in the price if you have any use for the 3 pack for $149.99. The 3 pack is what I am interested in but not until the 64 bit is offered or assurance that the 32 bit will run just as well. Heck, from somewhere I read something that led me to think that we may not receive our freebie Win7 for several weeks after the official release date of October 22.

As usual I shall wait for you lot to test it thoughrelly before I ever try it. Took me ages to accept XP Pro. Now I Love it.

XP is the bomb (meaning the best). I truely think that this XP will go down into the historty books as one of the best OS out there. I just hope that Windows 7 will repair the damage that Vista has done to the company. As of today, most OS I see on todays business machine still run XP and alot of business never took to Vista.

What short memories people have. Win XP was slammed from pillar to post when it was first released. Quite honestly, I rather expected the same thing to happen to Vista, that people would start to love it over time. I never found it a particularly bad OS myself, though it did have it's irritations.

Windows 7 is leagues ahead of both XP and Vista though, and I think it will turn out to be very popular. Unlike either of them, early adopters have found very little in Win 7 to criticise.

I think Win7 will put XP to bed and turn out the light.

This thing is so solid I can't believe it. And it boots up in seconds ready to go.

Of course I only use it as the host for my VMware VM's. But when I was using XP 32bit for the host, the host and the VM's would develop "glitches" and have to be replaced about once a month. I've had this host of Win7 going for 2 to 3 months and haven't had any problems with either the host or the clients.
