I didn't click on default, it was just there in the window with nothing else showing, so I didn't know I had to select it--is that what you mean, I should have clicked on it. I just figured because it was the only thing there that I did not need to do anything about it, so I did nothing to the word, "default" itself, just clicked next. And I never got to a window asking me if I wanted to password protect my backup. In fact, after your pic of the window asking me about password protect, I never got any of the rest of the screens. As far as my memory goes, not sure about it, but it seemed after I hit the last "next" on the page where the word "Default" was, the next screen showed me a box of where the program was going to be installed--in C. But I chose to browse instead to install it on my external drive. Maybe I was suppose to let it install to the Programs in C and then later maybe it would have asked me where I wanted my backup files to go. I hope I am making some sense because now it is hard to remember the exact steps I took, I just know that after it asking me where I wanted to install the program I never got any more "Next" buttons after selecting my external hard drive. Hope you can figure out the mess I am in because I sure can't figure it out.
    Thanks,
    Sheila

You're doing fine. You just need to select (click) profile (default), even, if only one is listed.
Without selecting, next button will be grayed out.

Thanks Broni, I will do all of this tomorrow evening after I get back from out of town. I would do it tonight before I go to bed, but I am having another problem with my computer right now that is being worked on over in another forum. I think I better wait until that problem is solved before I back up anything. Would hate to back up an error. Will post back tomorrow night and let you know what happened. Was it OK to choose to install the backup program on my external drive, or should I have just let it installed on C drive as it wanted to. I was not sure if I installed it on C if I could then have the option of having the backup files themselves stored on the External Drive or not--don't know who that works.
Thanks and good night for now,
    Sheila

You chose to place backup files on your external drive, which perfectly fine.

Thumbs up WOLRKED LIKE A CHARM!

    Broni:
After you stated all I had to do was to click on the word default, then everything else sounded so easy so I decided to try it this AM before I took my car to the shop. Worked like a charm!

I told the program to install on my external drive and it didn't seem to have a problem with doing that, so I feel better now about having done that.

I think this problem is now resolved! If I have any other questions later about this program, I will post it in another thread.
    Thanks so much,
    Sheila
