Acrobat 5 - PDF File
I am wondering if when installing Acrobat 5 if Windows XP is blocking the printer drivers to install of this software?
If so, how do I disable anything in Windows until I get this software installed? I need to create PDF files & need these printer drivers on my computer & they are not installing.
Any ideas would be appreciated.

DarElls--Acrobat 5 is pretty ancient. (Now up to version 9)
And I do not think it is recommended for WinXP.
Perhaps use some other program for PDF like CutePDF

Are you getting any error messages? Acrobat 5 should install on XP. Do you have a later version of Adobe Reader installed? You may have to uninstall that first, and possibly remove any leftover registry entries.

DarElls--I think Adobe Acrobat 5.0.5 update will work with XP.

Unless you have a need to specifically use Adobe Acrobat 5, I would never consider using it. Not with free, better and up-to-date apps are around. The free CutePDF writer is an excellent program that has always performed well for me and everyone I've recommended it to. http://www.cutepdf.com/Products/CutePDF/writer.asp It can be used for personal or business applications.
Then, for a good PDF reader, check out free PDF-XChange Viewer http://www.docu-track.com/home/prod_...ls/pdfx_viewer Smaller and faster than Adobe Reader, it also allows you to add type on PDFs. It even comes in a portable version.
