W2k decommission issues
Hi there,
I am planning to decommission my W2k AD server but I have a few concerns. I have some directories and printers sharing out to my company. If I run dcpromo to decommission my server, will it de-share all folders and printers too?
Thanks

It shouldn't, no. All you're doing (or should be doing) is demoting it.
Bash him into the ground, make jokes and call him names while he's alive...Revere him when he dies. Pathetic.

Hi , sorry to mislead. Dcpromo an AD server is to demote it. If I demote it to member server, will all my shared folders be de-shared?
Thanks for the reply.

As stated, shouldn't be an issue.

After you run DCPromo and demote the Domain Controller to a Member Server, the shared resources will still be intact.

The only barrier to knowledge is the perception that you already have it.
