[RESOLVED] trouble with "my documents display"
I am going to attempt to show you a picture of how "my documents" looks when I select it. I would like for it to show up the normal way but I don't know how to do that. I am going to try and send it as an attachment. Hope it works.
I am using Windows XP Home SP3 with 2G of ram.

Just post the URL to your image (on photobucket.com).

I don't understand any of this. I really don't. Can't it be made simpler?

Suppose this is the correct link.
http://s610.photobucket.com/albums/t...yDocuments.jpg
Right-click Start > select Properties > Click Customize.
On the Advanced tab scroll down to My Documents and click Display as a link.
That should do it.

I did what you said to do. Should I try it as an attachment?

Try this:- Click the following link to go to your photobucket.com page with your slightly reduced-size image in it:
- On the left on that page is a "Share this image" box. The forth line in that box contains the "IMG Code" you need for posting here on VirtualDr. Click what's in that "IMG Code" box three times, (or as many times as it takes), to highlight the whole thing, (it will usually be highlighted as white text on a blue background).
- Once you have it all highlighted, press [Ctrl]-[C], (or click Edit | Copy), to copy it to memory (the clipboard) in your computer.
- Come back here to VirtualDr and start a Reply to this thread.
- Click once in the Message box (to position your cursor) and then press [Ctrl]-[V] (or click Edit | Paste) to paste what you copied to memory.
- Once you've finished the rest of your Reply, click the Submit button to post your message.
That's all there is to it. With any luck, your Reply should now contain the full-size image that you've stored on photobucket.com.

Hope you can see this. This is how "my documents" appears when I click start then my documents.
I never did see it highlighted as white text on a blue background. All I saw was the word copied.
Sorry to be such a pain in the a--...................Gary

Now that I got that done does anyone know why it appears this way and not like other things. It has no header with the usual things like file, edit, view, etc.
Thanks in advance for any help on this and thanks to the people who walked me through getting it displayed.............Gary

Don't believe I've ever seen that before. Does it do the same thing when you click "Start" | "My Computer"?
How long has it been like this? If not too long, have you tried a System Restore?

Right-click Start > select Properties > Click Customize.
On the Advanced tab scroll down to My Documents and click Display as a link.
As Dep posted will stop that mess.
Selecting display as menu will show that mess.

I did not see that reply. I was not ignoring you. sorry if I gave you that impression. I normally get an e mail when someone replys but this time I did not get the e mail.
I want to thank everyone who helped me with this and as I said before sorry to be such a pain in the rear.
What you told me to do fixed it...Thanks again and I apologize to anyone who thought I was ignoring them.......................Gary

Gary, never do I bank on getting a email. To many things can go wrong, as what happened to you verifies.
Just come and check, easier and a lot less pain in the long run.
Have a good one.
