Resolved [RESOLVED] Problem with Microsoft Office 2007

Just bought a new laptop which came with Office Pro 2007 60 day free trial, I bought a copy of office 2007 home and student, which I dually installed the problem that I'm facing is whenever I start my e-mail I keep getting a application trying to start this application is called "Business Contact manager for outlook 2007 SP1" this fails to install and I keep on getting the error 1706 No Valid Source I tried to install it from my disc and looked up the file MSSMLBIZ.msi (80070643) i can't find it on the disc, it asks me to use source F:\mnt\BCM, this is why I thought it might be on the disc.

I aslo get the windows updates which it installs but then tells me that windows couldn't install insatll some updates I reckon this is the business contact manager trying to install.

Please help me with this problem as it is not effecting my use of any office applications it is just annoying, is there anyway to fix this problem by either downloading a fix from MS or disabling this on start up. Please help any advice.

Using Windows Vista Home edition Premium.

Did you uninstall the trial version before installing the bought version?

No I didn't as I thought the bought version would either over write the 60 day trail version etc.

The bought version will not overwrite the trial version. You need to uninstall the trial version and also the activation assistant before installing your bought product.

Have a read here. Though you probably didn't buy a key, but a full/upgrade version, the installation portion still stands.

Removed the activation assistant, and all other traces of the office 2007 from add/remove programs. I assumed that these will be the the older office programs in my add/remove as I installed the office 2007 program last week so these are shown as installed e.g 12/06/09 and the others were showing e.g 05/05/08 so I would assume that this will have been pre-installed on the lap top.

I haven't tried it yet to see if this has worked but will let you know once I've done this, looked at the link on Microsoft page.

Do you think that I should uninstall my version and then re-install it again, will only do this if my remopval of the activation tool fails.

Keep me posted if you have any other ideas or suggestion, once again your help is much apprieciated.

    Cheers Alan

Yes, if I were you, I would uninstall the version you bought, and the activation assistant from there, if still there. Then reinstall your bought version. Make sure you remove the folder that probably is still in Program Files.

Do NOT forget to reboot between the uninstall and install.

You can uninstall the SQL Server 2005 Express Edition, too. Since you're not using Business Contact Manager, you won't need it.

The only barrier to knowledge is the perception that you already have it.

Tried all that is suggested and hey still no joy. If I'm going to remove home and student 2007 do i remove all entries in the add/remove programs as there is great deal of windows office in my add/remove programs, some are showing the install dates as the day that I installed home and student.

I have even tried to use the repair module on the installation disc with no joy still, i'm still getting the install "business contact manager for outlook 2007 p1" then the error " The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable. Click OK to try again or enter an alernate path to a folder containing the installation package MSSMLBIZ.msi in the box below. Use source f:\mnt\BCM\ ". I don't understand why it is asking me to use source F drive which i haven't got this is a removable drive. This error also appears "Error 1706 No valid source could be found forthis product BCM for Outlook 2007 SP2. The windows Installer cannot continue" whenever i open an office application or outlook.
    This is getting quite confusing.
