win2k doesn't come with msconfig, but you can use the one from XP

    ..thank you..I didn't download it yet..there are 2 different programs for w2k?:

."...Windows 2000 users should download it to C:\WINNT\system32. The Help File for Windows 2000 should be downloaded to the C:\WINNT\Help folder. To use it, go to Start|Run, type msconfig and click OK..."

    ..or better..should both be downloaded?
    ..thanks...

Msconfig is all that is needed.

Got a XP machine and a thumbdrive handy? All that is needed.

"msconfig.exe" is the executable program file and "msconfig.chm" is the help file.

The "msconfig.exe" file can actually be placed in any file that's in your path ... but, placing it on your "c:\winnt\system32" folder would make more sense.

The "msconfig.chm" file should be placed in your OS's Help folder ("c:\winnt\help") so that the OS will be able to find it.

I downlowded from your link the .EXE, and I got into it, and took 2 off, but now I am in selective start, but when I try to run it as MSCONFIG it won't work, how do I put it on those files you mention??
    ..thanks..
