Hi Anne, appears a windows update caused this I believe you can unregister then reregister media centre :-
    Close Media Center
Click on the Start menu, programs and right click on CMD select "run as administrator"
run the command:- regsvr32.exe atl.dll press enter
run the command:- C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched /unregServer press enter
run the command:- C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehSched /service press enter
run the command:- C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr /unregServer press enter
run the command:- C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRecvr /service press enter
run the command:- C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRec.exe /unregServer press enter
run the command:- C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehRec.exe /regserver press enter
run the command:- C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe /unregServer press enter
run the command:- C:\WINDOWS\eHome\ehmsas.exe /regserver press enter

Reboot for changes to take effect .. see how you go... Thanks to QLD Uni for this.
