I just read about this software in the lastest PC World mag, a bit pricey but seems promising.

Not that specific program but their Antispy software was never much to write home about.

I've never been a huge fan of optimizing software, at least not the ones you pay for. THere are plenty of tweakers (like tweakui) and manual registry and system tweaks you can get/do for free.

Same with pretty much all of the other things it says it does. There are free programs that can do the same thing.

I am basically of the same opinion - free is always better. What is starting to bug me is the multitude of individual apps of accomplishing security and tune-ups. And the freebies often require manual updates and/or scans etc.

Would be nice to have a one-stop suite that does give good results for a change. Although I am not a frequent reader of PC World, and much believe they are less for "experts", I found their rating intriguing, but thought I'd better check the other doctors opinions here.

Maybe someone has actually used it and can give their thumbs up/down.

Likewise, I've never been much of a supporter of optimizing software, especially registry optimizers, which I avoid using. Ashampoo software can actually be quite OK, but variable. The defragmenter is quite good and the Antispy program licenses the A-squared database. The trials are full versions, time limited, so you can assess them that way, or older full versions of the programs are often given away on computer magazine cover disks. (I run giveaway versions of their Burning Studio on all my computers with complete success.)

If you think any of their software is worth purchasing, ignore the stated retail pricing. If you register trial or free versions with them and agree to receive promotional offers, you'll be offered much lower pricing.
