I have not tried anything through Safe Mode yet. A few things that I have read about some of these issues indicate to me that this may not really be a corrupted situation, almost more like some kind of issue with Vista. Haven't had much chance to dive into it further, which is part of reason I posted the message here. When I get a chance, I will do further digging myself.

Occasionally I get a message about using chkdsk too. I have tried that, but it does not appear to run.

As far as the C:\User\User goes, I believe it is that way because the 2nd User was the default initial user as the machine was loaded. User is not what I really use to login. I don't believe that has anything to do with this issue though.
