Could be a 'zillion' reasons why. A few of the general categories would be:- Incompatible computer
- Flaky computer (failing part[s])
- Overheating computer
- Incorrectly configured computer
- Incompatible software
- Infected software
- Corrupt software
- Incorrectly configured software
Does your system meet ALL of the minimum requirements?:Operating System - Microsoft Windows XP SP2 / Vista;
Processor - Intel Pentium 4 3.0GHz or 100% compatible equivalent;
Memory - 1GB RAM;
Video Card - 256MB memory with Shader Model 3.0;
HDD Space - 8GB;
DVD Drive - 1x DVD Drive;
Soundcard - Soundcard with DirectX 9.0c compatibility;
DirectX - DirectX 9.0c;
Network - An online connection is required for access to Leaderboards. Do you see any recent errors in EventViewer?If you're running XP, click Start | Run, type in: eventvwr.msc and press [Enter].
If there are any errors, what are they?

Well, I will try to look at even viwer more carefully, but my system is way better than the ones you posted. I run it at like 100fps on full. I run it on XP SP3. Always keep my antivirus on and spywatch too.
About overheating, if that could be a reason then maybe yeah, because my video card 8800GT OC 512GDDR3, after some time of playing starts to increase its fan speed, eventually coming to a really loud noise. Same with Devil May Cry 4, I was watching the movies in the game, and then at some point I got the "Send Error Report" message, and had to restart the game to play, where my video card's fan was spinning like crazy.
Also my CPU has small amount of thermal paste between it and heatsink. Its Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz @ 2.67Ghz.

When was the last time you cleaned all the dust and junk out with canned air?
To include removing the video card and cleaning it out?
Clean all fan blades with something like Q-tips and 90+% alcohol.
Do not let the fans free spin with canned air, it will burn out the bearings!
