    Resolved [RESOLVED] VMware workstation

Has anyone else tried the newer workstation 6.5? I decided to give it a try and the laptop runs hotter, I've got serious lag in the browser and the sound in VLC is choppy and repeats itself. I'm sure there's more but I've already decided to switch back unless there's something I can do.

I've already tried upping the RAM allotment to 1024MB but that really didn't do anything one way or another.

I've been using 6.5 since it was released, and I haven't noticed any difference in behaviour from the previous version. I think you have a bad install there.

Broni, it's a year and a half old Gateway with Dual AMD 64 Turion and 3G of RAM.

SuperSparks, that seems to have sorted it. I uninstalled, rebooted, and reinstalled. Now it's running cool, VLC is behaving and the java apps in the browser are a lot snappier.

On another angle, with Delorme Street Atlas running, Winamp no longer overheats the machine. I had earlier had to switch to VLC or Media Player Classic to avoid that problem.

Thanks for the input people, I'll mark this solved.
