Acer starts but no bootup screen need flowchart

Acer 5610 starts up but no post, beeps or video. I tried the sata hd in my desktop and it boots to XP OS ok even though it is supposed to have Vista. I checked the ram it is ok. The optical seems to work ok, the fan comes on the hd light comes on, then everything just stops. All this with either the power adapter or battery.

its the bios. either updated or corrupt. needs a flash or else a new motherboard.

sometimes its the ram. try a new one even if it works elsewhere, aswell as the processor both cause this problem but 90% of the time a new mobo. or if not worth it a new laptop (dell, toshiba)

I can see replacing the mobo, but how would you flash the bios if you don't have a screen to see, or a floppy?

I think I need to find out somehow if it is either the mobo or the cpu. Then if it is the mobo I understand that there are IC chips that maybe can be replaced on the board. Anyone have input on that?

Some BIOS chips can be unplugged and replaced.

I think I would just get a new laptop if it where mine.
    EXAMPLES of pricing.

you'll have to use hot air soldering tool to take off the bios chip and replace it with a new fresh one. or have it re-prgrammed
it's realy hassle and if you're not a real techy guy don't do it take it to a repair shop. best way sometimes is to just buy new mobo
