    Question MS WORKS 4.0 converter?

    Hi

    On my old system i had some Works 4.0 files i can not restore on Vista Home Premium,
    i've tried a couple online places without sucess.

    I downloaded the file converter from microsoft but i don't have the right version of word for it apparently. to convert.

    Any ideas?

    i haven't tried booting my old 98 for some time, don't know if it will or not


    I found i can do it under vista---for the time being, any comments still appreciated, format may have changed

    What program are you using now?

    May have gotten the wrong converter.

    Its mcsft stud home office 2007,, something must be working, tonight i have opened files i could not before not sur if it's the right way
    i downloaded last night

    i've got open office also but it won't do it, and zamzar doesn't work on .wps

    Took a reboot or two more than likely to get things working.

    OPen them files and save them again in a new format.

    Well believe it or not, i had 4.5 stored on my ext hd and i can open and designate it as the program to open these with, not even " installed" on vista, who says it doesn't pay to save things?

    i will get them converted now that it's taken me this long to figure out what happened,

    Question Is this the way this worked?

    I had not found that works 4.5 on my old files i had saved on my ext drive, so when i tried this last night and the 4.5 opened up, was it because i had downloaded the converter?
