Installing New HD
Question with replacing an older hd. After the new drive is installed the older drive is going to be used as a back up drive. The older drive needs to be reformatted. Since this drive is now named C: it will need to be assigned a different drive letter. Can you do this when reformatting the drive at some point?

Disconnect the old drive, install to new drive, when ready, slave the old drive in. Be sure to get the jumpers right on both drives.
Go into disk management and remove all partitions on the old drive, then format it.
Besure you save what you want before doing that though or it will be lost!
