I liked that pict there, "Your 'puter is clean!", with Mr. Clean. Haven't seen that one in ages! LOL

Re: 'puter behaviour ... much improved. Seems to be no unauthorized inet activity on the DSL. Startup items might need further purging, as does my installed apps. For instance, Yahoo can go, some test vidCapt apps, assorted misc odds & ends. But inet performance much improved, even syst response.

Re: more insts:

First, about System Restore & Auto Updates ... that was going to be my next issue: McAfee and everything you had me scan with all report normal, but Windows Securuty says Auto Updates is turned off, yet, in the System cpanel, AU is set to "Automatic".

I'll try your insts to see if it will reset. I hate that red shield with the "x". Don't like "x's".
