    ZA Connection Warning Q

Upon Startup I get two subsequent warnings from ZA:

    1. Spooler SubSystem is trying to access the Internet with IP 209.87.209.44NS

    2. Generis Host Process for Win32 is trying to access the Internet with IP 209.87.209.44NS

So, both want to access the same IP, and whether I allow or deny does not have any apparent impact on anything. (Usually I deny to both).

I general IP lookup showed this as a ZA address, yet all connection settings to ZA are disabled or set to auto-update.

Of course I have all spyware etc checked and all is clean.

Anyone know what triggers this or how to find out?

    Cheers

I haven't researched much this but I do remember seeing some very heated discussions about ZoneAlarm calling home. I think there may ways to block this communication but only in the paid versions (I believe.) You might try Googling something to the effect of ZoneAlarm and calling home...

You must have an older copy of ZA that still had OUTBOUND PROTECTION enabled (VERY GOOD (Especially on XP and vista (Privacy wise)))

    Good luck with this

Yes - still running 6.1.744 version - like it much better for various reasons. Should I go a couple of releases higher?

In any case, I never liked ZA.

I used to use ZA for a while, some years ago, but starting with some version (I don't remember now, which one), it started having problems, one after another.
    Probably, somewhere around version 3.

I love ZA, most of the slightly older flavors anyway. The newer ones get very overloaded with features.
But the key thing is security and I have absolutely no issues with it. Nor with ZA acting up (W2K and XP systems, 3 in total).
It's fairly easy on the resources too.
