    OCR Software recommendations

    Hi,

I'm in need of a OCR program, any recommendation?

    Thanks

Does your scanner not have one? Mine came with an OCR software. But others I've used over the years were Textbridge and Omnipage. The latter is quite expensive, where as Textbridge runs about $70 or $80.

I at one time had Omnipage and it worked good, but I've tried one of the newer ones
and didn't think it worked as good.

I'll have to look into Textbridge

    Thanks

ABBYY and Paperport come to mind.
Both have done OK for me.

Omnipage quite consistently is rated highest but not dramatically higher than some of the others. It is expensive. I have it and it does OCR with few errors for the most commonly used fonts. It has lots of capability and flexibility; however, that fact caused me to have to make some effort to learn how to use it. If you will use OCR quite a bit and can justify the cost, I recommend it.
