Computer Slowed Down

Since I've installed SP2 & SP3 my computer has slowed down considerably. Is this normal?
I'm also sending my HijackThis Log. Would somebody please look at it and see if something else is causing the slowdown? Thanks

Not seeing much there at all. A couple of things you can do though are:

• Go to Start > Control Panel double-click on the Software icon > add/remove programs.
• Search in the list for all previous installed versions of Java. (J2SE Runtime Environment.... )
• Select it and click Remove.
• Then Download and install the newest version from here:
• http://www.java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Now, close all instances of Internet Explorer and any other windows you have open except HiJackThis, click "Fix checked".

I have not noticed much difference, if any, since installing SP3.

I'll bet your Symantec AntiVirus scanner is interfering with AVG8 to a certain degree, slowing things down. If it were my computer, I'd restore back to SP1, get rid of Symantec (and all unused toolbars as well) and make sure the system is clean. When done, then update to SP3.

SP3, as with SP2 before it, provides needed security patches and has no effect at all on a clean system.
