[RESOLVED] Windows genuine advantage notification
Why am I gettting this update since I have a legal copy and have all updates including SP3, which, supposedly, you are not supposed to be able to get if your copy is not legit? It's rather annoying.

either you have to activate your windows before 30 days
or they think you have a pirate copy, if the sticker of COA is on your laptop or desktop then go to the microsoft website and confirm your copy of windows then it wont appear anymore.

Microsoft updates the WGA from time to time. Go a head and install it
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.

Train...interesting read. I wonder how many wallpapers will now go black. I can imagine some rather upset folks who were told that their XP was legit. I bet there will soon be a bump in the number of new XP cd's being bought.
I downloaded & installed the WGA update..( ...holds breath, crosses fingers,.....wipes sweat off brow...Hurray...I'm legit! ...).
It would be nice, though, if Bill would come down some more on XP. I would probably pick up a couple more cd's for future use. Even though Vista is the new guy on the block, a lot of folks still use XP and a lot of folks just don't need Vista and don't want to have to buy more ram just to get online and do the basics.
Anyway....I'll get off my soapbox now...

Works nice if you keep it all in one house hold.

$399.99....too rich for my pocketbook...and only a $20.00 discount...that's not a discount...that's an insult. " Oh, I just cannot afford $420.00 for a three pack...but $399.99....why, I'll jump all over that...what a bargain..a whole $7.00 off of a $140.00 item."
Heck..I was griping about $140.00...even that is a lot of moola to me.! I don't have any actual needs for any more XP o/s's...just would be nice to have a couple laying around.
Hey...how did I get back on my soapbox...??
