    images not displayed in IE

I was running IE6 thru XP pro, p4, 512 mg RAM, all updates and for some reason when I go to Google or Live.com no images are displayed. In google it says there are 2 million images, gives the pages and 1-10 are displayed but there are no images. I upgraded to IE7 but the same thing happens. There is an identical computer beside it with identical settings and it works fine. Any ideas? this one has me stumped.

coops--You say this problem occurs whether you use IE6 or IE7, correct?
Is the problem confined to the two sites you mention or do you see no images on any website?
Have you looked at IE Tools|Internet Options|Advanced tab. Under Multimedia is "Show Picture" checked?

    hi Jim

most images on websites show up it is just when I go to search for Images on Google or Live.com that nothing shows up. Those are the only two I tried.
The computer in question is at one of the schools I work out of. I'll try and post an image of the problem as soon as possible.

I'll try and explain it bettter here. If I search for say images of "flowers" on google it will say results 1 of 18 of about 2,234,499 for flowers but there are no images, x'ed out boxed or anything. Show pictures is checked. everything is set (as far as I know) identical to an identical computer that works. I can't even begin to think what it could be...

I haven't tried another brower, that will be the next step.

coops--You got me. I did a Google Image search and saw all the images, so the site is OK. The Google Image page is in my Internet (not Trusted) Site zone, and my Security level is Medium-High. I have not restricted Cookies for Google Images. And my setting for SafeSearch is Moderate filtering (default). http://images.google.com/intl/en/hel...mize.html#safe
The Help/FAQ page does not mention this problem
    http://images.google.com/help/faq_images.html
Perhaps you have a problem with your Firewall? Or do you perhaps have two Firewalls running. (Windows comes with one, and perhaps you have added a third party program?) But if that is the problem I would think you could not access the Image site at all.
The webmasterworld.com site mentioned here http://www.google.com/search?q=no+im...&start=10&sa=N
seems to have the problem, but sadly they want you to pay to see the site. And no guarantee they have the solution.
You can try posting on Google Forums. But I could not find a Group for Google Images specifically.

    Hi Jim,

i tried it with Mozilla this morning and it worked fine. I did a print screen to pass along the image but didn't have time to fool with it to post it here earlier before I was called away.
I've reset everything back to default then made sure Show Pictures was checked. Maybe I'll try the Google Forums. thanks for your help Jim
