[RESOLVED] All THREE movie makers???
Has anyone else encountered this? All three of my movie makers, Nero, Pinnacle and Microsoft Movie Maker keep shutting down about one minute into burning a home video onto DVD. Their logs simply indicate an app crash. This is getting ridiculous. I suspect it may have been one of those behind-your-back MS updates. System Restore back to a time I knew Pinnacle was working did absolutely nothing.
Already tried uninstalling Nero as some others have suggested (Nero has some kind of offending filter supposedly)...nada, no go. I checked all the filters in MS Movie Maker...no third-party filters are listed. Why would all three of these programs exhibit the same behavior? I have not downloaded/installed anything since the last time they worked.
Any clues?

Is it the same video? There might be something in the data of that particular movie that they are all choking on.
Nick.

I may have somewhat inadvertently found the cause/solution. I thought it might be a missing or corrupted codec, so I downloaded the K-Lite codec pack. While it weas installing it came up with a message that it found a corrupted codec and was replacing it. I thought that might be it, but the movie makers were still failing. To take care of another minor problem I was having, I downloaded Nvidia's mobo drivers which just so happen to include Nvidia Mediashield. I think that did the trick. MS Movie Maker and DVD Maker are now working (so far). I haven't tried Nero and/or Pinnacle yet.
I would like to ask for at least 2,457 of VDr's members to cross their fingers please...

Looks like the above action took care of it...something to do with Nvidia MediaShield. All three are working now.
