i accidentally remove all microsoft.net framework. I tried reinstalling microsoft.net framework 1.1 but there is an error. It was stated ' Microsoft.net framework set up failed. if the problem continues, contact product support service'. What should i do now? i have very little knowledge about 'Microsoft.net framework'. Now i can't even run simple program such as 'paint', 'notepad' and 'window media player'. please help. thanks

Try uninstalling all versions of the .NET Framework, then reinstall:

1. Remove the .NET Framework.
   
   
   
   1. Click Start | Control Panel | Add or Remove Programs.
   2. Make a note of all versions of the .NET Framework installed on the computer.
   3. Uninstall all the versions of the .NET Framework.
   4. When you are prompted, restart the computer.
   
   
   
2. Use the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to clean up the MSI database state for all the versions of the .NET Framework.
   
   
   
   1. Download the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility

   2. Install the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility as an administrator or as a user account that is a member of the local Administrators group.
   3. Click Start | All Programs | Windows Install Cleanup.
   4. In the Windows Installer CleanUp Utility, remove all Windows Installer applications for the .NET Framework.
   5. Restart the computer.
   
   
   
3. Download and then reinstall, in the following order, all the versions of the .NET Framework that were previously installed on the computer:

5. Use Windows Update to check for updates to the .NET Framework:

spywaredr, i did everything u asked me to, i installed all the microsoft framework above but i still cannot run 'paint', 'window media player' and 'notepad'. Now, what's the problem?

Notepad, Paint, and WMP should not need any of the .net framework versions. Please post the exact error message(s) you are getting when trying to run these programs.

dun have any message. it's just that when i try to run these programs, nothing appears.

Use Explorer to search for the Notepad.exe file. If it is not found, then you will need to reinstall it. If it is found, what happens when you double click on it?

i search with window explorer and found notepad. i doubleclick it and nothing happens

If you double click on Notepad.exe and no Notepad windows pops up, click Start, Run, and enter 'taskmgr' in the Run box and click OK. check the Programs and Processes tab for notepad. If you don't see it, then you may have some malware on your system that is causing the problem. Read the instructions for posting a HijackThis log so we can check your computer for malware.

eh what i found earlier was 'notepad' not 'notepad exe'. so i have to reinstall notepad now?

You may want to set Windows Explorer to show file extensions, at least temporarily. Double click on My Computer, then click Tools, Foldder Options, View tab, and uncheck Hide File Extensions for Known File Types.

ok. i found 'notepad.exe' i double click and nothing appears.
so i move on to the next step 'Run, and enter 'taskmgr' in the Run box and click OK. check the Programs and Processes tab for notepad.' cannot find 'notepad.exe'
