    Ram question

This pc had 4 sticks of 512 meg in dual mode. 1 died so i removed the 2 of them and left 512 in slots 1 and 3.
    That worked ok.
I took them out as it was underpowered. Vista premium x64.
I then got 2 sticks of 2 gig (2x2) an and put them in slots 1 and 3.
    Nothing not a beep.
    Any ideas?

    Hi Anne,

According to the manual for your Gigabyte GA-M56S-S3 motherboard:

"If two memory modules are to be installed, it is recommended
that you install them in the DDRII_1 and DDRII_2 sockets."

    Give that a whirl.
