    Welcome to Virtual Dr, jandunc.

When you say lost on windows live mail emails, could you please explain what you're looking at? This is not a gadget problem, nor a keyboard problem but a software problem.

What type of computer do you have? Is it a desktop or laptop?

Laptop. Acer Extensa 5220 with Windows Vista. The ? works everywhere else except in Windows Live Messenger and e-mails.

I'm not sure what to tell you because I've never had a laptop that had a specific problem with only two different applications. Usually this problem occurs if you have pressed certain keys on the keyboard simultaneously.

Try this: While holding down the [Alt] key, type in "63" (not the quotes) on the numeric keypad (not the number keys at the top of the keyboard). When you then release the [Alt] key, a "?" (question mark) should appear.

    [Alt]-[6][3] = ?
