I used my husbands laptop to download it and installed from flash drive. I can't figure out what setting in Comodo is keeping me from downloading or if it is coming from Windows firewall. I dont remember ever leaving it on but it is. Nothing I changed in either allows me to download files. For now though, here are the logs. From SuperAntiSpyware:

Is it ok to put a check in HJT to remove all the yumgo.co.uk references along with anything else you suggest?
    Thanks Broni!

or if it is coming from Windows firewall. I dont remember ever leaving it on but it is
Since you're using Comodo, you must turn Windows firewall off. That might be causing problems with your downloads.

*** If you're not using http://www.yumgo.co.uk anymore, we'll fix it.

*** You need to update Java:
    http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index.jsp
Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 6 Update 7
Uninstall all previous versions of Java through Add\Remove.

*** Download, and run QuickTime Killer: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/...e-Killer.shtml
QuickTime Killer will remove QuickTime from start up and kill any running QuickTime processes. This application runs silently at start up and closes itself as soon as it takes care of QuickTime

Nothing dangerous in HJT log, so we'll kill some unnecessary startups...

    1. Print this post out, since you won't have an access to it, at some point.

    2. Close all windows, except for HijackThis.

    3. Put a checkmark next to the following HijackThis entries (some entries will be checkmarked to disable unnecessary startups; in those cases [marked with *], no actual program will be removed):

    - *R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://www.yumgo.co.uk
    - *R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = http://www.yumgo.co.uk
    - *R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page = http://www.yumgo.co.uk
    - *O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [HP Software Update] C:\Program Files\HP\HP Software Update\HPWuSchd2.exe
    - *O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [NvCplDaemon] RUNDLL32.EXE C:\WINDOWS\system32\NvCpl.dll,NvStartup
    - *O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [UpdReg] C:\WINDOWS\UpdReg.EXE
    - *O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [QuickTime Task] "C:\Program Files\QuickTime\qttask.exe" -atboottime
    - *O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [MSMSGS] "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" /background
    - *O4 - HKCU\..\Run: [SUPERAntiSpyware] C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\SUPERAntiSpyware.exe
    - *O4 - Global Startup: HP Digital Imaging Monitor.lnk = C:\Program Files\HP\Digital Imaging\bin\hpqtra08.exe
    - *O4 - Global Startup: Microsoft Office.lnk = C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\Office10\OSA.EXE
    - *O20 - Winlogon Notify: !SASWinLogon - C:\Program Files\SUPERAntiSpyware\SASWINLO.dll

    4. Click on Fix checked button.

    5. Restart computer.

    6. Post new HijackThis log.

ok, Ive disabled the windows firewall. Still cant download exe files and have tried completely shutting down the firewall. I'll download them for now on another computer but again dont have the option to remove any of the java's in add/remove programs. No modify/remove button. Do you have a suggestion on that? In the meantime I'll go download the java and quicktime killer. Thanks

One thing at a time, please.
We have to finish HJT, then we'll worry about other issues.
If you can't uninstall Java now, that's fine. We can do it later. Just install the newest version.

Sorry! Thought you wanted me to do everything in that order
That's OK. I wasn't aware of your particular problem.

    1. Download, and install CCleaner: http://www.ccleaner.com/download/builds. Get "Slim" version.
    Read CCleaner instruction here: http://www.jahewi.nl/ccleaner/ccleaner.html.
    Run CCleaner.

    2. Turn off System Restore:

    - Windows XP:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Right-click the My Computer icon, and then click Properties.
    3. Click the System Restore tab.
    4. Check "Turn off System Restore".
    5. Click Apply.
    6. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click Yes to do this.
    7. Click OK.
    - Windows Vista:
    1. Click Start.
    2. Right-click the Computer icon, and then click Properties.
    3. Click on System Protection under the Tasks column on the left side
    4. Click on Continue on the "User Account Control" window that pops up
    5. Under the System Protection tab, find Available Disks
    6. Uncheck the box for any drive you wish to disable system restore on (in most cases, drive "C:")
    7. When turning off System Restore, the existing restore points will be deleted. Click "Turn System Restore Off" on the popup window to do this.
    8. Click OK

    3. Restart computer.

    4. Turn System Restore on.

    5. Download, and install McAfee SiteAdvisor: http://www.siteadvisor.com/download/ff.html. It'll warn you (in most cases) about dangerous web sites.

    6. Read "So how did I get infected in the first place?": http://www.castlecops.com/postlite7736-.html

    7. Let me know, how your computer is doing, and we'll go from there.

Well, 17 updates later and IE 7.0, Im all up to date and still unable to download files. I feel since I have tried completely stopping Comodo and Avast (for just a few mins of course), it cant be them and must be some setting in IE. But for the life of me I cant figure it out. You've been more than helpful so if youre ready to give up on me I understand.

I reset the security in IE to default level. None of this started until I loaded Comodo or Avast though so maybe there is a default in IE that it changes

    Few more things to try.
    1. Close IE.
Go Start>All Programs>Accessories>System Tools, and click on Internet Explorer (no add-ons). Try to download.
    If no go...
    2. Uninstall IE7. It'll revert to IE6. Try to download.
    3. Try Firefox, and see, if you can download.

I had 6.0 before last night and it didnt work prior to 7.0. So I downloaded firefox (on the laptop of course since I cant on this computer). Once installed I went back to try and redownload firefox exe file. This time at least the message was a little different. It said: Firefox setup 3.0.1(2)exe. This download has been blocked by your Security Zone Policy - sinet.ad.jp

    launching applications and unsafe file

That worked! I had looked at all those settings too and just assumed it was the downloads which was set to allow and prompt. Once again you're a genius Thank you!! Always wanted to try firefox so now I'll give that a try too.

    I'm glad, it worked
Actually, it was Firefox error, you posted, which gave me a clue to the right solution
