Moving ITunes to External Hard Drive

    Hello All,
I want to move my Itunes library to an external HD so when I plug in my IPOD the default will be the external drive. Can this be explained in detail?

I do have a hitch though, my wifes Sandisk MP3 player music in on my C drive so I probably want to leave my mp3's on my hard drive so I can add music to her player.

My thought is if my Itunes is on my external drive I can add songs there and leave what I have on my hard drive.

I hope I have described this properly.

    Thanks for your help.

Put the tunes where ever you want to, then in ITunes browse to where they are and pick them up.

Thanks for the reply. I was doing some research and it seems there is more to it than what you have said. Where do you browse to find them and will it stay that way once you find them?

It was under add music about 5 years ago.

Been a long time since I had any dealings with iTunes. And that was how I added about 20 GBs worth of music then.

THAT makes it real easy to do what you want to do.

It will take time to move all the files but that is easy to live with.
