Resolved [RESOLVED] WAV file to Stereo

I have audio files that I recorded off the TV for my carCD.
They are Stereo recordings, but when converted to WAV they became MoNO.
They play on one side of the car only.

In AudaCity I note that they are on one track only.

How can I copy paste to second track and thereby have sound from all four speakers?

Or do I require "another recorder" program?

    PS.
I thought I had a busted radio/CD, till I listened to another Stereo CD.

TVs are normally not stero. Seems I remember folks having to use a turner to get stero sounds out of them. I know it was a fairly elaberate setup I saw about 20 years ago.

    Convert to Stereo

    Frankb,

Here is what you do using Audacity, and the original mp3 (which from what it was described is mono):

    - open up the song in Audacity.
(you will see the track - just one row, and it could say it is Mono,
44100Hz etc. on the side bar, on the left side).
    - use 'Edit' and 'Select' ('all') [be careful not to put delimiters in
anywhere of the track... i.e. do not use your mouse to point
to anything in the track - right side of the panel] Then your
whole track will be highlighted (change color)
    - use 'Edit' and 'Copy' (to make a copy of your mono track).
    - use 'Edit' and 'Duplicate' (to make a duplicate inside Audacity).
You will then see one more row underneath your original row.
    - At the left bar - panel of each row, there should be a down-arrow
in solid black color (which is on the right of your track title).
Click the first one, and a drop-down menu will appear, you will
then see 'Mono", "Left Channel', 'Right Channel', and
    'Make Stereo Track'.
    - Click the 'Make Stereo Track', your 2 rows of the track will be
'merged' into one, to make it into a Stereo Track.
    - Go to 'File', and a drop-down menu will appear. Use the 'Export
as WAV' option to export your track.

That's it. Essentially, Audacity can do it, since you had used it to
change your mp3 into WAV, you could already be familar with what
    I have described above.

Also check the cables you used to make the recording.. if the tv has two channels audio out and audacity only caught one of them it could be a cabling problem.

Sorry, should have posted more info.

This is off the TV yes, but it is Music channel.
And when listening it comes in as Stereo.
the file is .dvr-ms which I converted to WAV.
Fine till I set things up in the car.
Thats when I thought my sound from the left side was out!

AudaCity shows the track R as the one that has the track
L (left) is blank. Both tracks show up.

I did what OneBigNewbie Said and it works,
It took that Knudge from you to get me on the right track
Good clear instructions. I must admit, I was fast on the first time, and goofed.
    But re-did and the results:

    Stereo in car.

    Thank You,
