    Welcome To Vaio Life

    I have Sony PCV-RZ54G computer

When I click on start and the menu opens,
at the bottom right, I get a folder that readsWelcome to Vaio Life.
    I will send it

When I click on it, I get an error, it is the second one I will send.

I have no way of deleting it or opening it that I know of.

    Any help appreciated.

The second one list where that would be before it was removed.

But now you need to find it in the regs and remove it so it does not show up there anymore. My take on the situation.

I went in the registry and deleted everything with, Welcome to Vaio Life

Now when I click on the Icon nothing happens.
It has changed in apperance, it has now changed to a yellow folder icon.

How do I get rid of it, and what is the name of the menu where it exists?

Here is an attachment of how it looks now.

    Thanks for the help Train

Folder in the start menu. XP has a few start folders so look in all of them.
    C:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\Start Menu\Programs\Startup

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnce
And a few more keys under then

I looked under all of those, and nothing showed up.

Looked in the registry under Run, and RunOnce.

    Looked in, C:\Documents and Settings\[UserName]\Start Menu\Programs\Startup.

Did search on, welcome t Vaio Life, and WTVl.exe

    Nothing.

I just thought there would be somewhere there would be a place you
    could edit the MENU bar.

The Yellow folder is all that seems to remain of it.

    Thanks again for your time.

Right click on the folder & choose properties. With that, you can go to the location it is supposed to be. If it's not there (probably not), go back & right click, this time choose delete: should delete it from start up.

When you click on it, right or left, nothing happens.
I found the attachment at this location.

That took care of it. It's gone.

Thanks to both of you for your replies.

Here is another one that goes into a lot more detail.
It will remove it for you.
I don't know if it will work, because mine was already gone.

Have a great day, and thanks again.

    Well I'll be . . . .

The second link shows how to make it it disappear permanently.

Just following the instructions below the paragraph that says:

The OEM Link should no longer appear in the New Start Menu. In case, the above option Manufacturer Link is unavailable in the list, you may need to edit the registry and enable the option to show in the dialog.

Thanks for posting those links! Learned something today

Right click on the Start Menu and select Properties....Look for the option to display OEM info and uncheck it.
If you're happy and you know it......it's your meds.
