Can't get rid of revsci spyware
Every time I scan for problems that revsci shows up. I use Firefox and have tried all different versions of "revsci" to try to block them but no luck.
The real kicker is the address that comes up:
"C:\documents and settings\newuser\cookies\newuser@revsci[1].txt"
The kicker part is that when I open windows explorer there is NO SUCH "cookie" folder! There's a "cookie" folder for "user" but not "newuser".
I have also checked to make sure the hidden files/folders were shown.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Thanks Train. I did that in options and will assume it works. Still puzzling about that address though.

Problem not solved!! Still returns. Maybe it's that non-existent folder business. Broni, I'm using superantispyware. Thanks.

Have a look at this tutorial about Firefox and cookies. Note about half way down the section where it describes how to permanently block cookies (Firefox's Cookie Exceptions ).
http://mozilla.gunnars.net/firefox_h..._tutorial.html
Put that cookie in the block column (revsci.net)
Note that cookies are not a major security issue. There's a very limited number of things that they can do and they cannot infect your PC in any way.

After reading the malware log it looks like that took care of the problem--the adware bug in the "real" file. That "weatherbug" folder doesn't exist so I assume it's been deleted.
Thanks Broni!
