    Summer routine/Winter routine?

I have a big yard to take care of...flower beds to tend...lots of mowing..etc.. My front yard is about 85 yards long and about 60 yards wide...lots of trees , which gives me lots of afternoon shade. I have two apple trees which are loaded this year ( remember last year's late freeze that killed much of the fruit crop of many growers and personal fruit crops? ) My two small peach trees are also loaded...as well as the two pear trees on either side of the apple trees.

So I spend a lot of time and my extra money ( extra??...what's that... !!)...on my outdoor projects.

I don't spend much time here or anywhere else and the money that I would like to spend on upgrading and stuff like that is used to buy mulch, plants, lawn & garden supplies, etc...

Speaking of money...it used to be that buying gas for the lawn mower wasn't even given a second thought. But now....buying gas for my riding mower and my push mower is starting to hurt my wallet... .

I was really wanting to build a nice dual core system, but I'll wait until this Fall when the outside work slows down and I start to spend more time inside.

So...my Winter time routine is more inside and here with my 'puter projects...and my Summer routine is outside.

    what's your's ?

I now rent, no yard work, no building repairs, so I have money for travel, etc.

Be sure to can all that you able to off the trees. Save you from spending it this winter in the store. Take out the flowers and plant veges. Save even more.

I definitely need to grow more vegetables, and need to learn how to can and preserve all kinds of food. I have been wanting to make some raised garden beds for vegetables, and with the price of food going up at almost the same rate as gasoline, the benefit of growing your own becomes more & more apparent.

I rent .. no yard work.

No plants, flowers or veggies ... but I sure do miss having them. I loved my flowers in the summer and my home grown veggies.

I rented for a long time also; raised my two children in apt's. I certainly agree that renting does away with yard work and any repair work and that was a big benefit for me as I raised the kids.

I had never owned a place before this place so it means a lot to me to have a place that is mine ( as long as I pay the mortgage... ). And I really enjoy working in and improving the yard.

I would like to travel also. I did a lot of traveling while in the Navy and enjoyed going to different places. Hopefully, in a few more years, I will be able to do a little bit of traveling.
