[32] Vista boots to blank screen
I updated my laptop to vista and now when it boots up I have a blank screen... It took me a long time before I realized that it was booting to my external monitor setting, after the boot I have to use the function key to use my laptop screen... Is there something I can do to correct this... Very annoying

Right-click the Desktop and choose Personalise, then click Display Settings, then choose the laptop's main display and check "This is my main monitor".

I must be doing something wrong, this didn't work... When I go to the laptop monitor there is already a check mark in main monitor display plus there is also a checkmark underneath for: Extend the desktop onto this monitor. I am unable to check or uncheck these boxes...

I noticed that when I boot in safe mode it will start on the notebook screen like I want it to, any thoughts here

Are there any settings in the BIOS? Look for "Init display first" or something along those lines.

New video drivers would be worth a shot if any are available as well.

I noticed in the device manager that there are 2 identical drivers listed under Display adapters, is this normal, if so why...

A Video driver was installed a second time.
Check the properites of each. And post what you find out. Like version number.

That's normal if you have two monitors connected (i.e. the internal LCD and an external monitor) -- each 'half' of the video adapter shows up as a separate device.
