Screen turns off
Packard Bell Easynote A8
Win XP - 2GB Ram
Intel Graphics Accelerator
Laptop screen keeps cutting out - have tried replacing the invertor but although ok at first then started doing the same thing.
If you press Fn and F2 screen sometimes comes back on. As does pressing the lid closure switch briefly.
Have also tried disabling and uninstalling display adapters but problem persists.
External monitor stays on all the time so thought this might rule out the graphics card.
Any and all sugestions as always gratefully received.

Sounds like the Light tube is bad - you can change them easy but only with same size tube's - its the small tubes that do that alot - i wish for big ones that flicker lol - but test your new inverter with new tube before cracking open the LCD. I think the way it will be soon is -New inverter plus new tube. They have to make money some how - thats why they got warranty - or should we replace the warranty with the word guar·an·tee :: an assurance for the fulfillment of a condition. lol
