    [Vis] dvd door opens repeatedly on its own

    I have a hp Pailion a1740n, one year old. Recently the dvd door began opening and closing repeatedly without any prompts from me. This happens everytime I use the computer. The only way I can stop it is to put a dvd in the drive, and load a file from the dvd and keep the file open all the the time. I think that this malfunction started when I backed up some files to a dvd a couple of weeks ago but I'm not sure.

    Broni is right .....it happened on both my pc...i ask the tech at work and he told me the same thing......it' time for a new dvd drive
